Project: Water and Sanitation Project

Project Summary: The proposed project aims to promote restoration of natural resources (soil and water) to revamp Agricultural activities hence poverty reduction in the focus area. The main purpose of the project is to demonstrate the effectiveness of advocacy and awareness rising in environmental management using Vetiver Systems (VS) as part of the solution in perennial challenges of soil and water conservation in the Division.

Water & Sanitation Programs: Amsha Africa Foundation with the help of the local authorities is currently engaged in the Kibera,Majengo, Kawangware & Pumwani slums of Nairobi, helping the local population dig pit latrines and clean the drainage systems to remove waste. Locals are hired to help with the cleaning and keeping the environment safe and clean. We are also working with self-help groups to provide funding for wells, boreholes, and water tanks.
