Fund a Loan
Amsha Africa Foundation works with entrepreneurs, self-help groups, and micro finance institutions to provide capacity building which incompasses technical assistance, awareness raising, risk-assessment, and organizational development.
We pool the generosity of people like you to provide carefully chosen entrepreneurs in the poorest parts of Kenya with small loans. The loans help these hardworking but impoverished individuals and self help groups build retail, manufacturing, farming, or other businesses. If you've heard of microfinance, that's what this is: small loans that can have a very big (and lasting) impact in the life of entrepreneurs, their family, and their community.
When you fund a loan, your money is wired to our appropriate loan officer who disburses the loan to the entrepreneur in need. They also receive the loan repayments and provide you with updates. You'll watch as the life of an entrepreneur (and hopefully yours too) is transformed.
Why Fund a Loan?
The world of finance isn't kind (and is often nonexistent) to those living in poverty. Most poor entrepreneurs, while struggling to build a business, don't have access to credit or financial services. Some don't have the means necessary to get started, and for many, many more, they simply have no place to go other than a loan shark. The financial infrastructure we take for granted in the western world sadly doesn't exist for the hardworking poor in developing countries. That's why your loans are so vital.
We will be listing the profiles of the entrepreneurs in need of loans in this website for funding. You will be able to choose the entrepreneurs your funds will be going to and you will be updated on how your funds are helping the business you funded.
When the loan gets paid in full, it is recycled to another entrepreneur. Imagine, your original donation being paid back and then going to work to fund another loan. You're improving not only the lives of your original recipient and their family, but also the lives of the next, and the next, and the next; thus the impact within the community is compounded.
We currently have a number of entepreneurs that we support, below is a sample.

Project (Click on link): Community Empowerment and Resource Mobilization through Media-Mwanedu FM
Project Summary:
Dominion Central links for Development shall use its radio as a tool to speak to different communities in Coast Province. One of the advantages the radio has is the independence over its programme content. The programmes shall feature human rights abuses, impunity and government's apathy towards its citizenry. The radio station also intends to fully educate the communities on harmonious co-existence and ways to avoid another post election violence in 2012. There is great need to empower the youth so that they can prepare for leadership in the years ahead as they are not polluted with elements of tribalism and nepotism as the older generation who have continued clinging to power with or without the peoples' consent.
The radio station runs programs on human rights, good governance and accountable leadership. Opinion leaders of the communities and professionals are invited as guests to discuss important community issues. There is always a duty bearer in every program to bear responsibilities.
